I updated MyEclipse from 7.1 to 7.5 and also installed BIRT. Now I am unable to run any code. I get the following error:

Error: could not open c:\program files\genuitec\common\binary\com.sun.java.jre.win32.x86_1.5.0.011\lib\i386\jvm.cfg

Note: While Java 1.6 is installed, I need to continue buliding and deploying to 1.5, just as I had been before doing the update. So at the moment I am unable to get work done.

    Thank you,

    Steve

    additional information:
    1. I’ve attempted to do the ‘reinstall’ option in Pulse but no success
    2. There is no ‘i386’ directory in the C:\Program Files\Genuitec\Common\binary\com.sun.java.jre.win32.x86_1.5.0.011\lib folder. it seems to have been (incorrectly) removed during the update process.

Sorry to hear you are running into this issue. Can you copy and paste your installation details? You can get it from MyEclipse > Installation Summary > Installation Details
I would recommend you to do a clean install. Please follow below steps –

    1. Run the uninstaller.
    2. Make sure the MyEclipse Install Directory has been completely removed
2.1. Pulse Install Directory, on XP it’s under C:\Program Files in \Pulse or \Genuitec, and on Vista it’s under \AppData\Local and then under \Pulse or \Genuitec again
    3. Then make sure the pulse2.locator file under is erased as well
    4. Install ME 7.5. The easiest way is to download the manual installer from the MyEclipse download page. It’s listed as option #5. This is simply Eclipse 3.4.2 with MyEclipse installed off an archived update site that is included in the download. Simply unzip it and run ‘eclipse.exe’ and you’re done.

Let me know how this works for you.
