As it seems JSF 1.2 specification will be finalized shortly by February, 2005. Can myeclipse team give us some assurance that 1.2 specification will be supported in next the next release 4.0.

When upgrading libraries that we ship we do a two step process:
    1) Evaluate what has changed in the APIs, make sure all the tooling support the new spec
1a) If changes are needed (e.g. Struts 1.2 needed changes) then file the changes as enhancements and get them coded up ASAP
    2) Add the new version of the library as a new tab of capability libraries under Preferences > MyEclipse > Project Capabilities

So depending on Step #1, the shipping of JSF 1.2 libraries will be either immediate or take some. Regardless, you are always free to use any version of libraries you want in your projects and/or adjust the libraries and resources that are added to your projects via the Project Capabilities preferences (these are user-editable lists, you don’t have to use what we ship). But just keep in mind that some of our wizards might not like the unsupported classes, so if you run into trouble wait for us to support it officially.

Our push behind Struts/JSF/etc. is big, we know it needs to be and our tooling will stay cutting edge for it.
