    this is nasty!

when i sometimes request a page which had a compilation error the generated java file seems to get stuck, so the only way to replace it with a fresh one is to stop tomcat und restart it.

    this makes dev really slow!

    :((
hope you have some clues about this!

    Axel,
I appologize for missing this post, did you finally get up and running or figure out what the problem was?

    Hi riyad!
Never found out more details about that.
Don’t know what my config was then. Had some troubles with tomcat 5.0.25 (which i didn’t have with 5.0.24, 5.0.27)
Well, I can tell everything runs much smoother now. (Eclipse 3, MyE3.8 B2, Tomcat 5.0.27)
With now using jsf I’m having caching problems sometimes. (didn’t use ‘add JSF capabilities’ from MyEclipse though, thinking it just copies the necessary libs to their places). But maybe that was session related, I’m now restarting my browser every time i look at my jsf’s. The caching problem didn’t show up since then (yesterday).
And often hot redeploy doesn’t work, but at least there is a warning.
And another trouble is, when using the debugger and editing the whole thing gets out of sync easily, because tomcat does a context reload.

    Axel,
It sounds like you got things working pretty smoothly… the other weirdnesses you mentioned sound Tomcat related, if you are however able to nail them down to MyEclispe, please post to the forums and we’ll see what we can do to help.
