i got following issue
Using MyEclipse 2013 for editing a jsp no matter wheter i use the visual jsp editor or the simple myeclipse jsp editor doesn’t show any compiler errors. So i think the jsp validation does’n run in the background.
If i open the same project with myeclipse 10.7.1 compile errors are shown with a red marker.

Sorry that you are seeing this issue.
Can you please check whether JSP validation settings are fine ? Go to Window > Preferences > MyEclipse > Validation and make sure that Manual and Build options are checked for “JSP content validator” and “JSP syntax validator”.
Can you please switch to a new workspace and check whether you can replicate the issue or not ?
If you are still facing issue, Can you please attach the sample JSP file which exhibits this issue to help us replicate the issue at our end ? Also, please attach the .log file located at <Workspace>/.metadata/.log file to help us investigate further ?
