In 3.7 RC2 the Java color preferences:

    Java code
    Java constant
    Java keyword
    Java string
    Java type

    are not available any more.

JSP/HTML Editor preferences -> Colors tab -> Syntax Colors field

Yes that seemed odd to me as well, but asturn was very explicit as to the location where he was seeing these choices (the JSP color settings) which is why I was confused by the comment. AFAIK he should have *never* seen these options available; unless I’m missing something that was part of a previous release.

Guess these settings existed in some early version… but the usage of the Java settings seems more convenient.

Rather than specifying different settings for Java in the JSP editor, I believe we normalized the JSP editor’s settings to use the Java editor’s settings for Java code to avoid duplication.

These settings were available in release 3.6.4 for the Ecliplse M4.

They were very usefull to set a different background color for java code within a JSP. You could distinguish between Java code and HTML code in a very convenient way.

I think it would be a very valuable feature for future releases of MyEclipse if it would be possible to set different background colors for Java and HTML code, as it used to be possible in 3.6.4!

If you mean coloring inside of a scriplet, yes this would be a very nice feature to have, especially if it inheritied from the existing Java settings.
