When I edit JSP’s I only get the source/preview tabs, I don’t get the design or split tabs. There are no errors in .metadata/.log

Any idea what I might be doing wrong?

    My Setup:
    XP sp1
    IE 6 sp2
    Eclipse 3.1.1 M20050929-0840
    MyEclipse 4.1.1 20060228-4.1.1-GA
    Sun JDK 1.5

    MyEclipseIDE support staff any ideas?

    Thanks!

    1. Right-click on your JSP file in package explorer or Resource Navigator and check the Open With… submenu – it could be you are using MyEclipse “Classic” JSP editor. You should use MyEclipse JSP Designer instead.
    2. Are you trying to edit external file or your JSP is local?

“Classic” was definately part of my problem. Now When I try and open JSP’s in the Designer I get this error. I’ll keep digging but if you had any ideas that would be great.

Looks like a conflict between plugins.
Did you do a clean install of the MyEclipse?
Did you use clean Eclipse SDK installation to install ME? There shouldn’t be any other plugins, namely GEF.
Do you install any other 3rd party plugins to the same install?

    #254272 Reply

I just ran a -clean and it is now working.
I run Eclipse with MyEclipse and JAD. That’s the only plug-in’s I should have installed…

It was silly of me to not check the file associations but I didn’t know there was a “classic” editor.

    Thanks for the help!
