I have a very large CFS file in the metadata, located in:

    .metadata\.plugins\org.eclipse.m2e.core\nexus\#########################

What is it good for and can it be reduced in size? 1 GB is rather large for metadata. That’s almost the size of MyEclipse itself.

Thank you very much for the information.

    Lofi,

Per-workspace Maven Nexus indexes are stored under .metadata/.plugins/org.eclipse.m2e.core/nexus.
The size of the CFS file depends on the size of your .m2 repository in the user home directory.
Please check this link for suggestions about disabling the maven indexing : http://stackoverflow.com/questions/4199743/what-are-the-gigantic-cfs-files-all-about-in-eclipse-workspace-plugin-folder

Hope this helps. Let us know if you have any questions.

Thank you, Swapna. I don’t use Maven and have disabled it long time ago. So I guess it’s safe to delete the file.

    Lofi,

You can also delete/rename the .m2 repository in your user home directory to stop creating large CFS files when you create new workspaces.

Hope this helps. Let us know if you see any issues.
