Exadel Struts Studio has a button in the toolbar to open the web app directly from Eclipse. It would be nice if ME had something like this.

Their demo shows this feature in action.

    Andy,
Turns out this is already planned for 2.8! 🙂

The servlet server launch panel with ability to start/stop/restart, visual representation of the current status and one-click switching between debug and regular more might be a good idea also. 8)

Can you explain in more detail what you mean? “servlet search launch panel” and “visual representation of current status with one click switching…”. If you can outline in detail what you would like, we will definately discuss it.

Hmm. Actually, it is just from the Exadel Struts Studio demo mentioned above. Slides: 31,78,94, 104 . Do you want me to write the Technical Requirements for you? 🙄

For those of you ‘outside the loop’, the suggestions from Sergey are particularly humorous since he’s the architect for Struts Studio. Thanks for the hints Sergey, we do appreciate all input. 🙂

Very nice product you have, by the way.

    You are welcome. 😉
Actually, I am very serious about Servlet Server Control Panel. Launching the servlet in the regular and/or debug mode is really one thing that has to be simplified in MyEclipse. Just do it better then we did.

    That would be tight.
