I don’t use the toolbars on any of the windows. I’d rather have more vertical real estate for code or list display. This is especially annoying when I’m using my laptop with 1024 x 768 screen, further reduced by running inside an X window on the Windows desktop!

First request we’ve ever gotten for this, and I’ve never tried it, but did you try right-clicking, going to Customize, and unchecking every single contribution to the toolbar and seeing if it hid itself? Noting that you will likely need to go to Window > Preferences > Appearance and changing the location of the perspective switching bar as well.

I know about that. I already got rid of enough toolbars that they don’t wrap on smaller screens. I have not figured out how to get rid of the toolbars in views like outline or the package explorer.
