I have used the Hiberante tooling to generate some hbm.xml files and the associated Java objects.

Is is possible for me to edit the hbm.xml files manually and re-generate the POJOs (I understand that any changes I make would be overwritten if I re-generate from the database)?

If this functionality is not available now, will it be in the next release?

Unfortunately this functionality is not available now, all files will be overwritten.

The good news is that this functionality will be available in the next release.
