I have been really waiting for the more flexible project structure and deployment that I believe are due in ME 2.8, however I would like to request that 2.8 be put on M9 over M8 since M9 is available (in theory) next week, and the 2.8 beta is due around the same time. One can only hope that M9 is more stable than M8.

Let me check with S/M about what the plan is for this (the beta) and the release in general.

    binyan,
Scott just got back to me to let me know that Beta 1 of 2.8/3.8 will be against Eclipse 3.0M9 (the 2.8 release (Eclipse 2.1) will be released first, and like usual the M release will follow). Then subsequent releases of the .8 release (other betas, GA release) will try and target as closely as possible the Eclipse 3.0 GA release.

that’s great, now if the eclipse guys/gals can deliver a higher quality release than M8 then we’re cooking with gas as they say

I hope that bye 3.0 you also remove the depedency to the hacked org.eclipse.jdt.debug (3.7.x) plugin. You should use the one contained in the official eclipse release.

First, it’s not ‘hacked’ it’s enhanced. 🙂 And, we’ll remove the dependency as soon as we can use the default implementation and still support source-level JSP debugging.
