jccartwrightMemberHello,
Trying to restart ME6.0.1 after a crash, it hangs about 1/2 through splash screen. I added “-clean” to the eclipse.ini but same problem.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

By the way, it’d sure be great to resolve the problem where ME crashes so often on linux.
Loyal WaterMemberCan you go to MyEclipse > Installation Summary > Installation Details and paste the information here for me.
Could you try switching to a new workspace (File > Switch Workspace > Temp), work there for a while and check if the IDE continues to crash.
What is the error being logged under <workspace>/.metadata/.log file ?
jccartwrightMemberThanks for your reply, but no I can’t get past the splash screen so I don’t know how to get to the “Installation Details”

DiederikMemberThe problem you’re reporting sounds familiar and logging out and back in again didn’t really solve the problem … a reboot did.
Apart from that, I’m having serious (stability) problems when running eclipse/MyEclipse on my Debian Lenny system using KDE.
The stability is so bad that I keep saving my files all the time, since it may crash any moment. It runs absolutely fine on my Windows (XP) box, but I want to use it on Linux.
Adding the -clean option doesn’t have a real impact and adding the option -Dlinux.experimental=true to get the Visual Designer makes it crash every single time 🙁I have 2 zip files with (error) logs, but I can’t attach it here.
I recently replace eclipse 3.3.1.1 with 3.3.2, but that didn’t solve the matter either.Today I thought about installing the eclipse version that comes with Debian even though it’s only version 3.2.2-5, so I wouldn’t be able to use MyEclipse 6, but I thought it was worth a try.
Did an aptitude -s install eclipse (-s for simulate) and I noticed it basically wanted to install a LOT of GNOME stuff, including synaptic and sudo! This was on my server machine, my desktop didn’t want to install those packages though. Here are my Installation Details:

In that case you should download the MyEclipse All in One installer and use it to setup MyEclipse to a brand new location. Does the problem persist ?
