vladimir.kovalyukMemberWindows Vista SP1, ME 7.1
I tries this:
C:\dev\ide\myeclipse and C:\dev\ide\myeclipse.commonME hangs when opening “Add/Remove sowtware …” dialog.
When ME is installed into default folder it seems to work well.
support-joyMembervladimir.kovalyuk,
You can configure MyEclipse install location and common software location. Please refer to the post here http://www.myeclipseide.com/documentation/quickstarts/install/
Can you *explain in detail* what you mean byME hangs when opening “Add/Remove sowtware …” dialog.
If you can attach screenshot or log files with errors, it will be very helpful.
vladimir.kovalyukMemberHelp->Software Updates->Add/Remove Software …
Dialog windos is opened. There is text “Loading catalog” at the bottom of the dialog window. Nothing happens within 15 minutes and I’m afraid won’t happen.
I didn’t find the log files in installation and common dirs (I think the place where they are written is another issue).
After I re-installed into the folder the installer suggested by default the “Add/Remove Software” started to work and I could find log files.Just try to reproduce. If the problem isn’t reproducible i will try to dedicate extra time to investigate where I can find the log files 🙂
support-joyMemberInteresting, can you copy and paste your installation detail here. You need to go to MyEclipse > Installation Summary > Installation Detail. I am able to update without any problem and my installation folder is different than suggested.
Can you answer few questions for me to better understand your problem and replicate this issue at my end?
1) How did you originally install MyEclipse? For example, did you use the installer for Windows from our download page? Did you install via an update site? Through Pulse? Or some other mechanism?
2) Did your user permissions in the install location or account information change recently?
3) Are you running as the same user that performed the install?
4) Are you behind a firewall or using a proxy? -
