I like the SQL Editor in the DB Explorer perspective. However, by default any time I run a query it pops up a MODAL dialog that says “Operation in progress…” with nothing but a cancel button. When I say MODAL, I mean it prevents me from using Eclipse while waiting for the results of a long-running query, even if I open a new window beforehand. This makes me want to shove a pencil into my eye. Many dialogs in eclipse have a “run in background” button, this is sorely needed here.
