On my development vm I’ve got multiple WebSphere application servers. One is a plain WAS and the other is a ESB both have a different base directory. When I want to work with both servers I’ve to create two workspaces as in the server configuration only one WebSphere home directory can be set.

Is there work-around besides using two workspaces?

    Kind regards

    clavis ,

You can try adding another profile, specifying the ESB profile location if its the same version of WAS. You can also deploy to an externally launched server, specifying the deployment location.

Take a look at this url for more info on multi profile support :

Take a look at this url for more info on remote support for WAS:

    I’ve got 2 WAS 7 installations:

    C:\IBM\WebSphere\AppServer7N and C:\IBM\WID7_WTE\runtimes\bi_v7

The first one has two profiles here. A Portal and a Standard no frills WAS. The second one contains the ESB profile “qesb”.

I can add both profiles. However with the wrong base directory the qesb won’t start up. Using the remote server would probably work, but it ssems to be that I should keep the second work-space.

Kind regards and have a nice weekend
