    Hi

    I installed MyEclipse 10.1 recently. (Windows 7 64bit)

Most of the JSPs marked as warning.

I tried creating a new workspace and import projects again and no luck.

when I open same file in MyEclipse 9.0. It works fine without any warnings.

for example : all attributes on table are not recognized
    <table cellspacing=”0″ cellpadding=”0″ border=”0″ width=”100%”>
all of them show following error.
Multiple annotations found at this line:
    – NLS missing message:
    Obsolete_attribute_name___ERROR_ in:
    org.eclipse.wst.html.core.internal.HTMLCorePluginResources
    – NLS missing message:
    Obsolete_attribute_name___ERROR_ in:
    org.eclipse.wst.html.core.internal.HTMLCorePluginResources

i see following exceptions in .log file

    raaju76,

Sorry to hear you are running into this issue. What is the editor you are using to view JSPs in ME 10.1 and 9? Are you using same editors? Right click on jsp > open with and check the editor. Could you check if there is anything different such as plugins added in 9 and that of 10?

    Joy,

I verified in 9.1 and 10.1 Myeclipse. the editor for jsp in both versions is MyEclipse JSP Editor.

    regards
    Raju

    i made one more observation.

If add following in the beginning of the JSP, all the warnings are gone and able to recognize all the table properties.

    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC “-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN”>

I can’t add this to all of my JSPs as most of them are included jsps into another main JSP where main JSP has DOCTYPE already and also have too many JSPs in the project.

    Raju,

Good to hear that you have figured the root cause. In your jsp include files, you could choose to exclude from validation or define project specific validation rules. Right click on the file > MyEclipse > Exclude from Validation / Manage Validation, enable project specific settings.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks Joy.

I can’t exclude JSP from validation. if I do that, I will not be able to figure out the syntax errors in the JSP until I deploy the code and also not able to use code template suggestion for most of the HTML properties.

Let me know if you have any other suggestion to overcome the issue in 10.1.

    Thanks

    Raju,

You could try to explicitly define the HTML document type default. Could you try this – right click on your project / jsp file > properties > Web Content Settings. And change the *Document type* to “HTML 4.01 Transitional”. Click on [Apply] and [OK]. Next right click on your jsp page > MyEclipse > Run Validation.

    Hope this helps.

    Raju,

Some additional information on your error. The NLS missing message errors is actually a message bug and I’ve raised a problem report for it. They should be properly formatted warning messages about obsolete table attributes, for HTML5.
