I’m getting an error dialog when trying to add a project to a deployment assembly. This posting is not about why I get the dialog (because I believe I know why), but why it is not giving any information about the error.

Sorry that you are seeing this issue. I could not replicate the issue at my end.
Can you please let us know what type of project are you adding to the EAR deployment assembly to help us replicate the issue at our end ?
Clear the contents of the .log file which is located at <workspace dir>/.metadata/.log. Replicate the issue and copy paste the entire contents of the .log file here for us.
