symentiseclipseMemberI’ve installed 4.0.2-GA for Eclipse 3.1.1 on X64.
Installation finished without an error, however, the startmenu group
MyEclipse Enterprise Workbench 4.0.2 is empty and the myeclipse.exe file is missing in
c:\Program Files (x86)\myeclipse.If I use the standard-launcher, I can see the myEclipse plugins installed.
JRE 1.5 is installed so far.
GregMemberThere actually isn’t a myeclipse.exe file installed into the MyEclipse installation directory. There is a shortcut that can be installed, but it still points to the main eclipse.exe with some MyEclipse specific arguments. Is the behavior you are seeing different from what you have seen on WinXP (32bit)?
symentiseclipseMemberYou’re right, it’s a shortcut. I copied the shortcut info over from my notebook, which has XP (32bit).
There are the shortcuts propperly installed, but on XP X64, the Startmenu for MyEclipse is empty.
Maybe it’s a problem of the installer as it get’s installed in
C:\Program Files (x64)\MyEclipse by default on X64.Everything works for me now, but it is a bit confusing.

GregMemberOh ok, admittedly we haven’t tested the installer on WinXP64. I will enter this issue in our PR system. Thanks for the report.
whandleyMemberThis problem still exists more than two years later. I installed 5.0.1GA_E3.2 on Win XP x64. Just as this writer describes happened with 4.0.2, the startup folder is empty and there does not appear to be any way to launch it.
Scott AndersonParticipantThe issue looks like it might be caused because your platform isn’t explicity supported by InstallAnywhere Enterprise, which is what we use to create the double-click installers. They list:
# Windows XP, 2003 (Itanium 2, x86, & AMD-64)
# Windows 2000, NT, Me, 98
# Linux/Intel: Red Hat, Red Hat Enterprise Server, UnitedLinux, TurboLinux, SUSE & others
# Linux for PowerPC, AMD-64, and Itanium 2
# Mac OS X (PPC & Intel)
# Solaris SPARC, AMD-64, Intel
# HP-UX (Itanium 2 & PA-RISC)
# Tru64, FreeBSD
# AIX
# z/OS
# NetWare
# Other Unix platformshere: http://www.macrovision.com/products/flexnet_installshield/installanywhere/overview/index.shtml
Could you perhaps try our “all-in-one” installer for MyEclipse 5.1? It was built with InstallAnywhere 8 where 5.0.1 as built with version 7. It might just be fixed, and the “all-in-one” is the simplest test of that if you wouldn’t mind running it.

I just installed the “all-in-one” 5.1 installer and I had the same issue.. Empty start menu folder.. I will copy the shortcut from my WinXp (32) laptop.
Thanks
