For the last 3 days I’ve been experiencing a problem with MyEclipse 8.6.
MyEclipse keeps on building the workspace. (Buidling workspace: analyzing resources)
The only thing I see is a progress bar that is stuck on 20%, the build finishes eventually after 15 minutes waiting. There are no errors displayed in the error log view.

The autobuild functionality is enabled so it’s normal that MyEclipse builds from time to time, but normally a build is incremental. Since the last 3 days a build takes at least 15 minutes. Every time I save a Java class I risk another full rebuild of 15 minutes. MyEclipse also starts building after startup. These are all issues that didn’t occur before and I use MyEclipse 8.6 for more than 6 months without having these issues.

I thought my harddisk was failing, but this isn’t the case. When I enabled the debug log of MyEclipse I finally saw an exception that explains the behaviour.

    myeclipse.exe -clean -console -consoleLog -debug -vmargs -Xmx512M -XX:PermSize=128M -XX:MaxPermSize=256M

    Is this a bug?
What causes the build to be interupted?
How do I solve this issue?

    t.costermans,

Sorry that you ran into this issue.

    1) Please copy paste your installation details here from MyEclipse > Installation Summary > Installation Details.

    2) What specific changes did you make in the last couple of days? Did you install any third party plugins lately ? If yes then please list them here for me. Also try to uninstall it and check if the issue persists.

    3) Go to MyEclipse Configuration Center’s Software tab and check if you see any updates available under the ‘Software Updates Available’ ?

2)I uninstalled myEclipse 7.5 and 8.6 completely before filling this post. I even deleted c:/Program Files/Genuitec/.
I’m working with a fresh install of myEclipse 8.6. and I installed the latest updates.
I preserved my workspaces. I tought I deleted the .metadata folder of the workspace that was giving me troubles,
but apparently I didn’t do that. The filestamp of the directory was to old. After deleting the .metadata folder
and performing a clean the problem is resolved.
The problem only occured in one of my workspaces.

    3) See answer 2

My problem is solved, so I don’t need to file a bug report.
    Thx for the quick reply.

On a sidenote: while Googling I came across this post https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=203058.
It look a lot like the problem I was having.
