MyEclipse 9.0 crach on opening an old 8.6 workspace

Hi!

After installing the brand new MyEclipse 9.0 on Windows 7, I tried to launch it over my workspace that was OK in MyEclipse 8.6. The boot progress halts saying “Loading Workbench”, the progress bar indicator is just below letter C in the genuitec logo.

Quite frustrating, this is not the behaviour that I expected from a genuitec software.. 🙁

The .metadata/.log contains this:

After creating a clean workspace and importing manually the projects, 3 were to be updated to MyEclipse 9.
After doing it I could use this new workspace, but I’m sure the hang+crash should not happen if there are old projects in the workspace..

Jabal,

You are right, MyEclipse should definitely not hang on opening older workspaces. During our testing, however, we did not notice any such problems. Did you import all projects that were in your older workspace into the newer workspace or did you leave some unimported? Could you tell us the types of the 3 projects that you imported (web, ear, ejb, etc.)?
