I downloaded MyEclipse 4.1.1 using Eclipse 3.1.2 on Windows XP professional for the ajax debugging feature. When I went through the tutorial it indicated that the option to debug would be available. I followed all the steps but when I got to step 2 the debug option was not available. I tried adding it to my perspective (debug as javascript application) but it still did not appear in the MyEclipse perspective and neither did the JavaScript Scripts Inspector. Is this only available through the professional version and not available for a demo? If it is
available for demo could you tell me what I need to do to use the feature.

Also, I tried the steps listed in the post “Launching JavaScript Debugging…tools do not launch” which was helpful but it still did not correct the issue as the javascript script Inspector was not available (it wasn’t even listed). I tried to Create a new Debug As JavaScript Application instance but this just creates a new debug session and all the options available under the MyEclipse Web 2.0 are not longer displayed (unless you display each option under window | show view | Other.

I’m try to debug a local application using jboss 4.0.5 which is configured correctly to debug java files and jsp’s but not the embedded or linked jscript files. The javascript debug is a key feature I’m looking for so any help you can provide to get this up and debugging would be tremendously appreciated.

    Denise,
I would really encourage you to download and install our 5.1.1 relase using our All-In-One installer instead, it’s a much newer release and JavaScript debugging is now much easier to do (simply navigate to your website and hit the debug button and away you go).

thank you. Is version 5.1.1 compatible with the version of Eclispse (4.1.2) I’m using? Also, should I uninstall the previous version of MyEclipse or will the new version just overwrite and update the existing version?

    MyEclipse 5.1.1 requires Eclipse 3.2.2.
