MyEclipse for Spring 8.5 can be installed from Pulse or a web installer. Here’s a brief description of each.

Pulse – In Pulse there’s a blueprint for MyEclipse for Spring 8.5 in both the IDE and Popular Software categories. You can install an instance of the ME4S blueprint by right-clicking on the blueprint. For most people this is the ideal option because you can tailor the installation to the things that are most relevant to you, and you can exclude the features you aren’t interested in. Furthermore if you have more multiple installations on your workstation, the common components/plugins only need to be downloaded once.

Web Installer – This option is for non Pulse users, and can be found at http://www.myeclipseide.com/installer-spring/ . This will install a minimal version of Pulse, and you will have less customization options. You can only select from two profiles: “All” or “Essentials”. In order to use this option you must have a Java enabled browser.

The following URL can help you verify if your browser Java enabled:

There are now offline installers available at http://www.myeclipseide.com/installer-spring/.

You can also add MyEclipse for Spring to MyEclipse Pro. Read more here.

Please, I am unfamiliar with the install method of Pulse, I’ve tried but it just installed the full eclipse stuff on my mac.

I wanted to add the features and plugins of this ide to my existing eclipse 3.5.2 setup. The reason of this is that I own Flash Builder 4 and want to snap it in in the same piece.

If you have an offline installer that is able to detect my current eclipse installation, with the promise to do not mess it up, I would definitely grab it…right now I am using the full one…

    Thanks,

Please, someone, let me know, I am struggling a bit to get this done.

By the way the offline installers redirects me to the same downloads page, which offers pulse.

Ive seen that pulse suggest you to drag stuff into it, but I am really missing the point.

A great tutorial on how to setup this on existing eclipse only or other eclipse installations other than myeclipse will be much appreciated.

    Cheers,

    Ernani

Currently MyEclipse for Spring is available as a stand-alone installer, a Pulse profile, and as an add-on to MyEclipse Pro. We don’t currently have a mechanism for installing into a standard Eclipse install.

However we’ve had many developers install Flash Builder into MyEclipse for Spring. So that’s another option to consider. Lately we’ve been doing a lot of work with Flex as part of the new Flex scaffolding options in MyEclipse for Spring 8.6. We just release a public milestone today.
