bijurkParticipantI upgraded to ME10.5 Enterprise Workbench Build: 10.5-20120615
I copied a web project and got around to change the context-root but found that in the Project Properties window for MyEclipse option Web menu is missing.
Instead I see that Web Content Settings/Web Project Settings/Web Page Editor are now moved to the main menu and has only Context root as the option for Web Project Settings.I did go there and change the root from the project name to / for [ROOT]. However that does not change the context-root for some reason.
WorkAround:
I found that the only way to change the root was to manually edit the .mymetadata file under the project folder and change the value to context-root=”/”However, on a random manner when I rebuild/clean/MavenClean/Install the workspace the context-root is reset to the web project name.
Is this a known bug?
Thanks,

support-swapnaModeratorBiju,
Sorry that you are seeing this issue. I could not replicate the issue at my end with a simple web project or a maven web project.
Can you answer some more questions for us ?
1. Can you please copy paste the Installation Details from MyEclipse > Installation Summary > Installation Details ?
2. How did you upgrade to ME 10.5 ? Is it from Configuration Center/All-In-One installer or Pulse ?
3. Is the web project created in earlier versions of MyEclipse or imported from elsewhere ? Did you enhance it to work with MyEclipse 10.5 ? Is it a simple Web project or a one with Maven support added ?
4. Can you give us steps in detail right from where you are trying to copy the web project from and how you are copying it and changing the context root ? Also send us the project’s .properties file to help us investigate further.
5. Can you switch to a new workspace, create a simple web project and check if you see the same issue when trying to copy it?

Attached as a file.2. How did you upgrade to ME 10.5 ? Is it from Configuration Center/All-In-One installer or Pulse ?
Yes, from the configuration center.3. Is the web project created in earlier versions of MyEclipse or imported from elsewhere ?
Yes this was created in an earlier version and was working fine with ME10.
Did you enhance it to work with MyEclipse 10.5 ?
How do I do that?
Is it a simple Web project or a one with Maven support added ?
This is a maven project.4. Can you give us steps in detail right from where you are trying to copy the web project from and how you are copying it and changing the context root ? Also send us the project’s .properties file to help us investigate further.
I just copied an existing ME10 project into another folder to try out the newer Icefaces 3.x version. I renamed the the project to another name and changed the context root in the Web Project Settings Menu (as displayed in the previous post).
I have attached some of the project related files but I am not sure what you mean by the .properties file.5. Can you switch to a new workspace, create a simple web project and check if you see the same issue when trying to copy it?
I did this and found that this occurs for the new projects in a new workspace too.Attachments:

bijurkParticipantI took the time off to uninstall all previous versions of MyEclipse and then reinstalled the MyEclipse 10.5 and that fixed the issue with the web submenu under the MyEclipse menu.
Attaching the new picture…Cheers,
