Recently I installed a trial version of MyEclipseIDE onto my iBook and I have to admit that it looks stunning (currently working with JBuilder). Since the iBook isn’t that powerful, I would like to continue developing on my Sun workstation. Are there any plans to bring MyEclipse to Sun Solaris?

    Simon,
Does the installer not run on Solaris? The good news is that with version 2.7/3.7 GA we are going to start offering a manual install, so you can install MyEclipse similar to how you install Eclipse now… I imagine that should work as MyEclipse’s dependencies are the same as Eclipse’s.

    Simon,

I’ll point out that although we could create a Solaris installer, we don’t do it because we have no way to test our product on Solaris. As a result, it’s an unsupported platform. However, if you’re inclined to manually install MyEclipse on Solaris please fee free to do so, but please remember that any problems you encounter must be reproducable on one of our supported platforms for you to get any support for it.
