    Hello,

I just purchased myEclipse Professional for myself. Until now I have been using Eclipse for my development. Unfortunately, it looks like myEclipse is completely unusable under Linux and Wayland. There are a lot of visual glitches and lag when using myEclipse.

Is there a way to make the experience workable?

    Thank you

    Filip,

Sorry to hear you’re experiencing issues with Wayland. In our experience we’ve seen that not all systems using Wayland are affected, but some do experience stability issues like you describe.

The next major release of MyEclipse, version 2024.2 will be based on a newer Eclipse platform and should have these issues addressed out of the box.

For now, could you try the following workaround?

    1) Open terminal and go to the directory containing the myeclipse binary
    2) Execute the following command
    export GDK_BACKEND=x11
    3) Run MyEclipse from this same terminal
    ./myeclipse

Please let us know if this addresses the stability issues and sorry again for the inconvenience caused.

    Best,
    Brian
