I have MyEclipse v10 installed. I can’t give the details of the version because I can’t get far enough to view that information.

I came in to work today and the IDE won’t start. It worked fine yesterday and many days before that. Now it displays the splash screen, displays “Loading Workbench”, the progress bar gets to about 20% and it freezes up. CPU utilization is mostly 0% and memory is about 40%. I can kill it, but I’ve tried starting it a dozen times today with no result.

    HELP!!!!

Here are the details I get after killing the process:

    WGPuckett,

Sorry that you are seeing this issue. There might be some corrupted files in your workspace.

Can you please give some more details for us :

    1. Can you please try starting the IDE with-clean command line argument and see if it fixes the issue ?

    2. Did you install any third party plugins ? If so, please list them.

    3. Clear the contents of the .log file located at <workspace dir>/.metadata/.log file, replicate the issue and attach the log file here to help us investigate further.

    4. Can you please rename ‘workbench.xml’ file which is located at <workspace dir>/.metadata/.plugins/org.eclipse.ui.workbench to some name and try starting MyEclipse and check if the issue persists ?

    5. Can you please switch to a new workspace and see if the issue persists ?

Let us know how it works for you.

This lasted almost all day. I did multiple reboots and much of what you suggested. Finally after about the 3rd or 4th reboot it started working. I have no explanation.
