I’m running Vista Ultimate 64-bit (8gb memory/Q6600) and it would be nice to run ME in native 64-bit with the 64-bit Eclipse version (x86-64) for Windows. Currently, it is “hit or miss” with ME actually working this way and it certainly isn’t “supported” yet. Considering the current chipsets are nearly all 64-bit chips and mainstream use of 64-bit Windows, it should be time for software companies to be shipping/supporting 64-bit native software.

Yeah, I know ME *can* run with 32-bit JDK/Eclipse on 64-bit Windows, but that is in WOW mode — which is an emulation layer and I can’t take advantage of the expanded memory 64-bit allows.

Ditto to this request. Now that you can buy a $999 BestBuy computer and it comes with Vista 64-bit, I think we can now safely say that 64-bit Windows has gone mainstream. 🙂

    Is it due anytime soon?

With 64bit really starting to pickup and the hardware so cheap…now is the time to pursue all things 64bit…can we get an update?

Support told before (in another thread) that x64 support (Java 64 bit runtime) for Windows should be available with the 7.5 release of MyEclipse. For a few variations of Linux it should already be working, but I’m a Windows users, and don’t follow the Linux capabilities & possibilities.
