>Now I know you can zoom with the 2 finger techinque. Why can’t the buttons be used?
The zoom control you refer to is google map’s traditional slider zoom control. It was commented out internally because it is a NOP on mobile devices. That is, the google map api omits the zoom control by default for mobile apps/webapps.
In the Test Center (alt+mouse-down) and on your devices you can use pinch-zooming. Or you can tap to zoom.
What other mobile-specific functionality are you looking for?
Thanks for that info Wayne. you learn something every day!
I am not looking for anything in particular, I was playing with the original map example before 2.1 was released and wondered why I could never get the zoom control working.
I’m just about finished developing an app that uses the google map api and the one thing I’m struggling with is the zoom or lack of zoom in the map. I can tap the map a few times and zoom in (not smooth). But I know of no way to zoom out once zoomed in. I see other google map api examples that have a (+) and (-) control on the map and that would surely be the icing on the cake if I had that control within mobiOne.
