    Hi,

I am having the problem with the myEclipse editors that they do not allow to type the closing backet of any type (}])). When I open a bracket and hit return, it inserts the closing match. But when I try to key it in, it woul’nt work.

    Thanks for any hint

What is your Eclipse Build ID from the Help > About menu?

What is your MyEclipse Build ID from the MyEclipse > About menu?

Specifically what editors are you referring to? Please list them all.

    Klaus,
I need your MyEclipse Build ID as well as I asked above.

I would point out that you are not using the final GA release of Eclipse 3.1, if you *are* using a final GA release of MyEclipse, then this is the problem. MyEclipse’s will be broken against a non-final 3.1 release (which was done in 06/05).

    Hi,

    The myEclipse Build is 20051025-4.0.03-GA

The last Update was done via the Help/Software Update function.

Could you plse tell me what to do to get the proper version?

    Thx
    Klaus

    Klaus,
    Sure here are the steps

    1) Download Eclipse 3.1.1 SDK : http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/ (bold link at top should be 3.1.1 quick download)
    2) Redownload MyEclipse 4.0.3 from our site

    3) Unzip Eclipse to a new dir
    4) Install MyEclipse 4.0.3 to a new directory, pointing at your new Eclipse directory as the Eclipse directory

    5) Edit the shortcut MyEclipse created on your desktop and add -clean to the beginning of the command line
    6) Now run the new MyEclipse installation and point at your old workspace
    7) Now try and edit a file and see if brackets work now
