My subscription just ended and I was torn between the pro version and the standard. The Oracle connector would be great (I guess) if I used Oracle (I don’t), but I was really interested in the UML stuff. I still live in a silly little world that says that says that UML is/should be nothing more than a way to convey ideas. So things like forward/reverse engineering don’t really impress me. I’ve tried them and I find that I end up spending more time rewriting the generated code to conform to my coding style (so I can understand what its actually doing; gee, what a concept) then its worth.

The myUML tools look good for what they offer and they seem very similar to my preferred tool: Posieden from Gentleware. But until all UML diagrams are offered, I can’t see buying them. Not yet. But hopefully soon.

    James,

[..But until all UML diagrams are offered,..]

Sequence diagrams have been a part of MyUML Since 4.1M1 and have only gotten better in M2. If you are uncomfortable w/ using M releases, I suggest you wait till we ship 4.1GA (about a few weeks time if things go right).

I’ll also point out that the 4.1 GA Pro version will include the JavaScript debugging facilities and a rich image editor, if those tools are of consequence for you. The info on them is in the New & Noteworthy document for 4.1M2, if you’re interested.

Out of curiosity, what diagram do you use a lot of the time that we don’t offer?
