Robert HibleMemberCan I only open one workspace on the same machine at a time?
I attempted to open a second instance of MyEclipse (single user license) pointed to another workspace location, and I get a “Subscription Key Problem” and it lists my IP Address 134.72.13.12 and then my localhost address 127.0.0.1.

support-joyMemberBoeing-111,
If you are on a single user license. You can only open one instance of MyEclipse IDE at a given point of time. You can choose any workspace with this instance.
Robert HibleMemberOur old licenses must have been different then, as we were previously able to open more than workspace at a time. Thank you for the clearification.

Robert HibleMemberAs a folow up, we found that the single user license that we are using when used with MyEclipse 8.0+ allows a user to open more than one workspace on their same windows desktop at a time. For the developers that updgraded to MyEclipse 9.0 at the same time that they recieved their new licenses, they were not able to open more than one workspace at a time.
Switching workspaces while working on large applictions with multiple projects requires either a significant amount of time to build and validate those project, or we must turn off those features. All together it’s lost productivity.
I would suggest that MyEclipse emphasis or change the wording of the “single user licence”, that the meaning is (1) ONE Workspace open at a time, NOT a single user logged into the Windows machine.
We are re-evaluating our use of MyEclipse with other tools that allow multiple workspaces/project spaces, since purchasing multi-user licenses to allow a single user to open multiple workspaces is required and required a higher than expected license fee.
support-joyMemberBoeing-111 ,
I am afraid, I am not able to replicate this issue on MyEclipse. I tried this on Windows XP and opened multiple instances with different workspace location. It works fine for me. This should work for the same workstation but there might be complications with some operating system, if the network address reported for the local machine is not consistently reported.
What is the OS you are using? Please open MyEclipse IDE, from menu options click on MyEclipse > Installation Summary > Installation Details and copy and paste the same here.

The output you requested is listed below. I’m using Windows 7, though the MyEclipse output is showing Vista. My original post shows the same message that I have been receiving regarding the IP addresses.
Though to be honest, I’m a little confused as the support response from my original post says that “If you are on a single user license. You can only open one instance of MyEclipse IDE at a given point of time. You can choose any workspace with this instance.” Which leads me to believe that this is a license issue.

Brian FernandesModeratorYou are allowed to run any number of MyEclipse instances on the same machine; but you cannot run MyEclipse simultaneously on multiple machines with a single user license.
Your use is clearly of the first kind and should work fine. We do have situations where multiple network interfaces are incorrectly detected as more than one machine and result in an incorrect warning of this nature. That you would see the warning only when using MyEclipse 9 but not when using MyEclipse 8 is very odd; the behavior should be consistent across both these versions. Are you sure there have been no other configuration changes on these machines and that they were originally using a single user license when working with MyEclipse 8?
Nevertheless, please write in to subscriptions@genuitec.com with a link to this thread and a list of licenses affected by this problem, if possible, so we can correct the situation. We will continue with the resolution of this issue via our email support system.
Sorry for the misinformation earlier in this thread and the resulting inconvenience.
