While editing Java classes I attempt to open a Declaration using the F3 key and get the following error:

“Current text selection does not resolve to a Java element”.

Everything else appears to be working properly (i.e. the project compiles, I am able to open the Type Hierarchy, etc…)

Does anyone know what might be the problem?

This is really affecting my productivity – help!

Where are you opening the Java class from? From within another Java class, or a JSP page?

I am attempting to open the class from another Java class within the same project.

Interestingly enough it will, on rare occassions, actually work (maybe 1 out of 20 or 30 times). In addition, it does jump to the method if that method is a member of the class I’m in.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Matt

Moving to OT > Soft Dev, this is a straight Eclipse issue (not MyEclipse).

Matt, have you tried asking on the Eclipse newsgroup? That isn’t an attempt to pass the buck, but you would most likely get a more rapid response from the Eclipse developers themselves.

    OK, that’s reasonable

I am not able to use the auto complete feature too.

    Any help !!
