since when does opening any file in windows launch an eclipse type program? all i want to do is launch my default lite text editor and view the contents of a file and this hefty db explorer loads up?

I use db explorer inside of eclipse and it’s great, but i have no idea why i’d want to load it separately at all or why that would happen by default when opening a text file.

the eclipse strategy has always been that the os explorer is a separate entity, it doesn’t even link to the os explorers, that’s something myeclipse added (which is useful)

this is a pretty extreme paradigm shift and one that I personally don’t like. what other windows file associations are changed when installing the latest my eclipse?

1 vote for not changing any windows file associates for next release

    Hi pstanton,
When you install MyEclipse, you get an option to associate certain file types with the MyEclipse editors. Incase you dont want your files to open up in MyEclipse edtors, you can uncheck those options during installation.
