System Configuration

Windows XP Pro SP1
Eclipse 3.0.0
ClearCase 5.0

I have a problem where I configure the Eclipse IDE on my desktop and install the ClearCase plugins. The IDE comes up with the ClearCase toolbar, but I get the following error when I try to checkout a file or refresh the state:

Refreshing state (Error: An internal error occurred during: “Refreshing state”.)

Verified the ClearCase works properly, but this error occurs in the IDE only. Any assistance is highly appreciated. Thanks for your time.

I don’t believe Rational has released an Eclipse 3.0 compatible version of the ClearCase plugin, have they? I could only find the 2.0 one online. If that’s the case, it isn’t unusual that the Eclipse 2.0 plugin won’t work in Eclipse 3.0 since there were so many API changes and additions.

Odd thing is that I have it working on one of my systems with this same configuration but not the others, thus my post. I have not found any Rational info supporting Eclipse 3.0. If you discover anything, please let me know. Thanks again for your input.

You might gain more insight into the problem by checking the Eclipse log file at <workspace>/.metadata/.log. At least it should give more detail about what’s going on when the problem occurs.
