Running ME 8.5 (all in one) on Win 2000 (sp4)

Had a lot of probs in the last few days getting 8.5 working properly and finally cracked it yesterday but in doing so I’ve noticed another potential problem

On Config Center Dashboad tab it says in the “What Next?” section –

“This profile is no longer managed by Pulse. This can happen for a few reasons including: losing access to a shared profile and chosing your local version of a profile rather than replacing with one from the server”

and on “Software” tab “About this profile” section it says –

    “Ophaned from server”

Absolutely no idea what this means but will this cause me a problem? if so, how to fix it? having spent so much time trying to get it to work in the first place I’m a bit reluctant to make any changes in case it breaks again so if it makes no difference I’ll probably just leave it

    cheers

    Adrian,

I am afraid, I don’t have a workaround available for this. An orphaned profile is a profile that can no longer be managed by Pulse and since we have no way to take an existing install and manage it by Pulse, the only way to stop the message is to reinstall MyEclipse. why is it developers can’t stop fiddling? lol

Found in pulse explorer, if you “duplicate” and “ophaned” profile you can use that under pulse control and is much quicker than creating a new profile!

    cheers

    Adrian,

Can you take a look at http://www.poweredbypulse.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1306 and verify if you were able to create a duplicate from an orphaned profile?
