javabearMemberSome of the Oracle table – SQL plugins available are quite good.
I’d like a plugin to write/edit and run oracle packages ( procedures and functions ) from within eclipse.Javabear
Belgium.
Scott AndersonParticipantGood suggestion. We’ll be looking into database tools for MyEclipse in one of our “themed” enhancement releases that we’ll be doing after the GA release. Do you have any plugins you want to recommend that we be sure and take a look at?

Check out the ormodo plugins for importing Rational Rose UML into eclipse and the generation of UML; use cases, sequence diagrams etc !
If you want more info on how I loaded them ( not that evident ! persevere the results are outstanding ) then I’ll write a small paper.
Now I’ve got;
UML – Rational Rose,
XMEN XML
Oracle tabular SQL viewer
java de-compilereclipse 2.1 is my ONLY ide and I’ve DISCARDED … JDeveloper ( sorry Larry ! ) and am a happier person.
Elizabeth.
Scott AndersonParticipantElizabeth,
Which SQL viewer plugin are you using, specifically?

Greg BloodworthMemberI would suggest that it would be nice to have TOAD features built in as an IDE plugin.
I’ve tried a number of different DB enabled plug-ins and have been disappointed. I’ll wait for those which are endorsed by myeclipse.
Scott AndersonParticipantTruthfully, I always fall back to TOAD too. 🙂
We’ll find something and when we do it’ll be the best available. However, I haven’t seen anything that approaches TOAD yet.

Peter FoxMemberHave you looked at http://www.allroundautomations.com/. They product a called PL/SQL developer
simonMemberA little bit late to this conversation, but I am curious.
When we are talking about SQL plugin and TOAD features, are we talking about the ability to manipulate database objects like in TOAD? If so, that will be a great feature to add to Eclipse.
Our shop does very heavy development work on Oracle 8i and 9i, and we use SQL Navigator and DBArtisan.
Thanks.
simon.
Muhammad AshikuzzamanMemberAnd anyhting about Oracle Application Server Plugin for Eclipse ?

Scott AndersonParticipantWe already support Oracle 9i/AS in the current product.
