Just saw this post in the Eclipse newsgroup, and thought it might be a good place for the ME team to start discussions with these authors:

    I use a mixture of
    -MyEclipse (paid) http://www.myeclipseide.com/index.php
    -XMLBuddy (Pro, paid version) http://xmlbuddy.com/2.0/features.html
    -JavaScript editor http://www.ee.ryerson.ca/~hkataria/
    -CSS editor http://csseditor.sourceforge.net/

Now, they do overlap at some points. I.e. MyEclipse has CSS and XML too but the specialized plugins are much better.

A combination of those projects would be ideal. Not necessarily a single project. I would like them to be separate Projects whick can be used independantly but they could work together and each one focus on its strengths.

I believe we’ve already talked about the XMLBuddy collaboration and that wasn’t an option or didn’t work out, but the JavaScript and CSS editors are both quite good and open source, maybe a good place to ask.

We’re always on the lookout for new technologies that we can use to enhance MyEclipse. The JavaScript editor doesn’t specify what license it uses and the CSS plugin is for 3.0M6 only, but both issues can be worked. I’ll send it along to the planning team.

I’d like to add to that list, this is a plugin I just found, and is advertised as being able to backup your workspace files and configuration.

That is a good idea, we had a gentleman on these boards that had a heck of a time backing up his workspace… that’d be nice if it was built it.

    Thanks for the suggestion.
