This is just an FYI to fellow developers:
While the C2.9 does not display phoneui.alerts in the Simulator, the C2.2 does.
So I have been using the C2.2 to test the message displays and saving a generation and load to the actual mobile device for testing. Then I switch to C2.9 for the rest of the testing. Saves a bit of time.
