In the preferences window, under MyEclipse, editors, xml, xml styles you can change the syntax highlighting for XML files. However, it is impossible to change the settings for the assignment operator in attributes (<node attrib=”something”> ‘<== The ‘=’ char in this example).

Hopefully this can be fixed in the next release? Since it turns out blank when I set the background to black. (It becomes invisible).

This is a missing preference for all the editors currently, and yes we want to add it although it might be after 3.9 as there are a slew of brand new tools going into 3.9 that are higher priority than this right now.

After 3.9!? Well, I have no idea of the timescale of your releases, but it’s a common practice to fix current bugs before implementing new features. Although this is a forgotten preferencer or whatevere you’d like to call it, it is a program fault.

I know it’s a small fault, but if you are constantly reminded of this and other small problems you will end up getting annoyed of the program itself. I sincerely hope you will do the changes to include this preference in the next update of MyEclipse.

Since you’re saying it’s a missing preference, this would imply that there is some file somewhere where I can change the property for this “style”? If not, is this a “hardcoded” style? The latter would of course mean more programming to be done.

    oyvind,
This is being researched as we speak and one of the developers working on it has already assessed that it seems fairly doable to fix. He is drawing up some instructions on how to work with ‘dark backgrounds’ in the editors as we speak. We will make an announcement with his instructions when he is done.
