is printing bad or is it just a configuration issue? i created a sequence diagram and tried to print it (selecting landscape). there are only 5 objects on the page. it finally printed somewhat ok (all squished to the left) when i selected 1 to 1 pages and answered yes to fit on page.

the interface was not very good, creating, in creating calls/returns. i had to keep closing the model and opening it for it to refresh correctly (that was after starting over 2 or 3 times). label text appears no where near the lines themselves.

Can you please post all the information we request in the Posting Guidelines thread at the top of this forum? That will give us some context so that we can determine if this is an installation issue, a configuration problem, or a bug. Thanks.

Your setup looks good, all the right versions. I am sending this off to the UML team to research, I wasn’t aware of printing issues but I didn’t know they were recently reviewing it.

slb,
By squished do you mean like they were so close as to being unable to distinguish between each other or just too close? For fit to page there are certain corrections done and there could be something specific to your diagram. If possible could you send us the UMR? (email it to support@genuitec.com with ATTN: Kapil).
As for the label text, i believe its the same distance from the message for all edges in all diagrams. I can file a enhancement request for allowing user to customize the distance if you’d like.

ok, thanks. i’ll send the UMR.

squished as in way to the left, covering only about 1/3 of the page. and that was a good printout. most of the time i just got one of the objects defined in the sequence diagram.

it doesn’t appear to me the text lines up well with the actual line it represents. the refresh wasn’t very good.

Ah, I see what you mean now, when there are too many objects & the S.D. objects cannot be resized sufficiently enough the printing corrections cause incomplete output.

We are looking in to the positioning of labels causing inconvenience esp in Seq. Diagrams where edges need to run pretty close to each other.

I’ve filed both bugs and will post back here when I get feedback from the team.
