herb200mphParticipantBy what method/manner can MobiONE app screens be printed ;to hard copies?
We have an extensive number of apps and a high page count and the client would like to proof hard copies.
How can we do this?
support-octavioMemberHi herb200mph,
MobiOne screens (.mobi) can only be rendered in the Visual Designer or when generated as html5 code and run in the Test Center or on a device. Both the Design Center and Test Center provide a screen capture utility. Several thoughts:
1) open each .mobi file individually, snap a pic and then close the editor
– I don’t recommend you opening all of the .mobi file at once as you will probably run out of memory2) Run your project in the test center and snap pics as you nav through the screens
3) Build and run your project on a device. Snap pics as you nav through the screens.
– note that screenshots will not include device faceplate.
herb200mphParticipantOctavio:
Thanks for the reply.
Only “downside” of your instructions = the HTML area isn’t WYSIWYG, and the screen shots don’t scroll for long pages.
Tried SnagIT to capture a scrolling screen = DUD, FLOP, NO GOOD.
When you generate the screens/pages, and they are longer than the device viewing window, you can’t capture the text below.
But, alas, life will continue.
P.S. When will you be integrating some sort of WYSIWYG editor for the HTML area.
Right now, we are creating html using “Amaya” which is easier to use than Dreamweaver (which do so have), then copy the html and paste it into the MobiOne html box. Clumsy process, to say the least, but it works OK that way.
thomas.hammond89MemberQuestion – we’re designing an app that allows users to take notes and ideally we’d like them to be able to print those notes from the app – is it possible to do this via Mobione?
Worst case we may be able to let them email them to themselves and print them out on a computer (certainly not ideal for the user though).

MalakSadikParticipantany update on how to allow user to print scrolling pages
support-octavioMemberHi,
App print services are not provided by mobione.
Paul_paulParticipantI don’t know if this will help but I do pretty much the same thing by taking a screen shot of the app screen at various stages then manipulating them together with Photoshop or Fireworks. Don’t know if this would work for you though.
herb200mphParticipantUnfortunately, many of the screens on our apps are rather long – they are reference documents – so screenshots won’t help.
We actually generated the pages as web apps and then did the print out from the browser screen.
Not the best solution, but it worked.
Cheers.
