After adding the url to my feature update list, I get this error when I select MyEclipse Enterprise in the installer window.

    MyEclipse Core Tooling (2.7.101) requires plug-in “org.apache.xerces”.

Do I need to install 2.7 before using the update url for 2.8?

    rmwilliams4,
MyEclipse 2.x is for the 2.x series of Eclipse. MyEclipse 3.x is intended for the 3.x series of Eclipse, so its not actually possible to install MyEclipse 2.8 against an Eclipse 3.0 release.

What you want is our newest 3.x release (3.7.2) which can only be installed against the 3.0M8 release. Our M9-compatible release is due out in about a week or less, please follow this thread for more information:

If you are using the trial of MyEclipse and want to stick with Eclipse 3, then using 3.0M8 for a week until our 3.8beta1 release (for Eclipse 3.0M9) is out, might be a good idea just to give you an idea of what MyEclipse can do. Or for a much more stable environment, we suggest using the Eclipse 2.1.3 and MyEclipse 2.7.1 releases (or 2.8beta1 if you really want to check out the new stuff).

Thanks – I should have known that! I’m a registered owner and I’ll wait until the 30M9 version next week

We appreciate the support and hope you enjoy the M9 release, its chalk full of goodies.
