I have a MacBook Pro 2 G w 2G Leopard 10.6.5. I downloaded MyEclipse 7.0, it downloaded and de-tarred itself. It launched fine. The next day I tried to launch it and got an error that it couldn’t find the executable.

I re-downloaded MyEclipse 7.0 but the installer runs into the following error:

An unexpected error occurred preparing to install or launch the selected profile.

    Reason:
The eclipse executable [myeclipse] cannot be found: /Users/admin/Library/Genuitec/Myeclipse7.0/myeclipse.app/Contents/MacOS does not exist.

    Install Location: /Users/admin/Library/Genuitec/MyEclipse 7.0
    Common Location: ………………………./Common

    Any help or ideas

Are you trying to setup MyEclipse using the MyEclipse 7.0 All in One installer for Mac? Can you please make sure the size of the installer you downloaded matches the size mentioned in the download page.

Excuse me, I am not very literate on a MAC but on this web site, there is only one button that I see for the MAC. It saysAll in one installer for the MAC.

I tried to write clearly that I downloaded, installed and it ran fine. I eventually shutdown the MAC for the evening. The next day I ran into the above error messages.

I was hoping that an exprienced MAC user/developer could help with those errors…?

    sandbergc9,
You can setup MyEclipse on MAC using the Archive update site installer as well which is available on the download page.

Thank you for answering my question. I’ll ask the dev team to look into this issue and I’ll get back to you with a reply asap.

I just got a reply from the dev team. This is a known bug in the Pulse installer on case-sensitive volumes on Mac. You can try and update the myeclipse.ini file to point to the right dirs or you can use the archived update site to setup MyEclipse. If you choose to setup MyEclipse using the Archive Update Site installer, you will have to install Eclipse separately and then setup MyEclipse on Eclipse using the Archive Update site installer.
