Every time I try and start web servers:

    !ENTRY org.eclipse.ui 4 0 2011-09-22 12:40:19.902
    !MESSAGE Unhandled event loop exception
    !STACK 0
    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/genuitec/eclipse/wdt/jsp/debug/JSPSourceLocator

    What’s the problem?

    stacey11 ,

Sorry that you are seeing this issue with MyEclipse.

Can you answer some more questions to help us understand the issue better ?

    1) Can you share your Build ID from Help > About MyEclipse Enterprise Workbench > Build ID ?

    2) How did you install MyEclipse ? Is it through Pulse/All-In-Installer/Archived update site ?

    3) Did you install any third party plugins lately ?

    4) Can you check if you can start the MyEclipse Tomcat without any issues ?

    5) Can you switch to a new workspace, clear the contents of the .log file which is located at <workspace dir>/.metadata/.log , replicate the issue and paste the entire contents of the .log file here ?

    6) Also give us steps in detail on what exactly you are doing for us to replicate the issue at our end ?

    Build id: 9.1-20110701
    2) How did you install MyEclipse ? Is it through Pulse/All-In-Installer/Archived update site ?
    myeclipse-9.1-online-installer-linux.run

    3) Did you install any third party plugins lately ?
    no

next time it happens I will, but I did try starting both glassfish 2.,1 and 3.1 and neither started
    5) Can you switch to a new workspace, clear the contents of the .log file which is located at <workspace dir>/.metadata/.log , replicate the issue and paste the entire contents of the .log file here ?
will do next time it happens.

Sorry I can’t give you log content, but I need to get work done here. The only fix is to
switch to a new workspace and start from scratch, which means all of my preferences are lost. Quite a pain…

    6) Also give us steps in detail on what exactly you are doing for us to replicate the issue at our end ?

    Stacey,

Can you confirm that a new workspace fixes your problem? If so, are you saying that the problem eventually recurs? It’s not clear from your post.

Note that you can copy settings between workspaces. See this FAQ for more details.

If the problem occurs again, please let us know your operating system and version, and the steps we can take to try to replicate the problem. Also, the log file would be helpful; as mentioned by Swapna, clearing the log then recreating the problem will help us trace the problem, if there are relevant errors that are logged.
