I’ve actually seen this multiple times on my machine (Gentoo Linux) using E2.1.3/ME2.7(.1).

In the Eclipse 3.x.x series, the SWT browser control has initial support for using an embeded a mozilla browser component in the control that will work on non-windows platforms. The win32 version of the same SWT browser control uses IE’s browser control. At the moment though, the SWT Browser on non-windows platforms, isn’t ready for inclusion in ME. Our internal testing revealed lots of problems with the SWT browser on linux that made it too unstable. But the Eclipse 3 series is still in heavy development and those guys will get it working. When the it matures, the 3.x series of MyEclpse will support it.
