    Richard,

    Thank you for the screenshot.

The special character is in the default project path : the apostrophe in Joe’s : C:\Users\Joe’s\Workspaces\MyEclipse 2015\Badwolf

Special characters are not allowed in the project name as well as in the project path. You can uncheck the ‘Use default location’ and select a different location with no special characters in the path.

Let us know how this works.

    Richard,

Sorry that you are seeing this issue. Thank you for the files.

Can you please let us know what changes you have made to the IDE after posting the issue with the special characters in the project path ?

The log files has ‘Access denied’ messages.

Profile not locked due to exception: C:\Users\Joe’s\AppData\Local\MyEclipse 2015\p2\org.eclipse.equinox.p2.engine\profileRegistry\com.genuitec.delivery.package.profile.2063-Axa-9367.profile\.lock (Access is denied)

You need to check whether your account that is running MyEclipse has permission to create lock file or manually remove the lock file at the above mentioned path if it already exists.

Can you please try running the installer as administrator and see how it works? Right click on the installer file, select ‘Run as administrator’.

Let us know how it works.

First i changed the computer name from Joe’s to Home it didn’t work so When i tried to change the Workspace destination folder to C:/programfiles after i got the project path erorr i got another erorr that the folder is read only so i unchecked read-only option in folder proprties … it didn’t work so i unchecked the read-only option for the whole Program files folder …. unfortunalty it didn’t also work and myeclipse kept giving me the erorr that the folder is Read-only and no access and cant write in the destination folder so i tried to uninstall myeclipse from control panel which didn’t work so i deleted myeclipse folder that was in %AppData% and Users
in an attempt to uninstall and re-install it afterwards,
when i tried to open the installer it gave me the erorr above
iam sorry for that much of writing
and i hope you can help me because iam in an online course and they are using myeclipse and iam late because of those erorrs 😐
    thanks in advance

and the installer showed the 3 options I choosed to repair my installation
and now it showed up this erorr Screenshot
and here is the file of the problem description in the attachment

    Richard,

Please check this FAQ for clean installing MyEclipse : https://www.genuitec.com/forums/topic/installation-how-do-i-perform-a-clean-myeclipse-install/

If you have already deleted the MyEclipse installation folder, then please also delete the deliverycenter.installs file located in your user home folder and run the installer to install a fresh copy of MyEclipse to a different location.

Please make sure you are installing MyEclipse to a location for which you have full permissions. You need to also have full permissions for your workspace folder as well.

Hope this helps. Let us know how it works.
