Recently installed ME 6.5 via the pulse tool and have found it to be both frustrating and unintuitive to work with. I have searched both the ME site and through the pulse explorer to find info on how to use this tool to little avail. The sudden switch over has been very unsettling, particularly with a ide I have come to rely upon and has worked well for me up to this point.
Particularly, I managed to create a profile for Europa and ME 6.5.
This is goodness.
Next, I added ICEFaces, Matisse, and ME Reports to the profile (I think). Only thing is when I import a project from 6.0.1 which had ME Reports capabilities, it no longer says it has this capibility installed, nor does it seem that it is an option.fine.
Decided that I need to use a Ganymede realm anyway, so should be able to create another profile using that release version.
Wrong.
Pulse explorer keeps telling me I cannot add to the 6.5 profile I have since it was created in Europa, nor will it allow me to create a new one.
I rename this profile to include the Europa title in hopes that will allow me to add a Ganymede profile (think I need this to update projects to Birt 2.3 engine since Firefox 3 broke existing Birt capablities).
Nope, just created another Europa profile.
So I delete the new profile and try to restart ME to see what capabilities I now have, and guess what — yup, the profile with the projects I had imported are now gone.
wonderful.
Something tells me I missed something way back in the beginning, so guess that is where I need to back up to. Just where is the beginning?
If I need to learn a new way to install and manage ME, fine — not that I need to take the time out of development activities, but we do move forward (hopefully) — just why is it so difficult to find the information?

http://www.poweredbypulse.com/webinars.phpAlso, MyEclipse 6.5 is not compatible with Ganymede and thats the reason why pulse was not allowing you to setup MyEclipse 6.5 with Ganymede. We would be release MyEclipse 7.0 this week and you would be able to set that up with Ganymede.
