christweekieMemberHi
I stopped using MyEclipse after all the problems with pulse and proxies during the last release. Can anyone tell me – is pulse still a built-in part of MyEclipse ? Can you opt not to use it or at least turn it off in a reliable way ?
Thanks
Chris
support-joyMemberChris,
Pulse is a part of ME. Having said that you can setup MyEclipse using the archived installer to get the non-pulse version. As for proxy settings, Click on Window > Preferences > Pulse > Network Settings and add your proxy settings here. For communication modes, you can select Maximum compatibility, if that doesn’t work for your proxy, select Native Java network connectivity.
christweekieMemberHi
So will the archived installer mean that all updates will be done in the normal Eclipse way and there won’t be any communication with Genuitec about the plugins that I am installing ?
Thanks
Chris

If you install plugins by adding the features and plugins to the dropins folder, Yes, you don’t need any communication with Genuitec. In this case, you will need to verify the base eclipse support for the 3rd party plugin. In case you add the plugin using Help > Software Updates > Add/Remove Software, plugins get downloaded using pulse.
