Seldon SystemsParticipantHi,
I’m using All-in-one MyEclipse 7.5 on XP SP 3. Through “Add / Remove Software”, I added two plug-ins from the official Pulse catalog – Commonclipse and Log4E. I removed both of them, and they’re not in my software list anymore, but they are still installed: Commonclipse is still in the context menu of Java classes, and Log4E still pops up an error mesage that the trial period has expired.
Why didn’t removing them worked, and how do I get rid of them for good?
support-joyMemberHi,
Are you trying to uninstall using Pulse Explorer or using Eclipse Add/Remove software in help menu?
If you are not using pulse explorer, try using pulse explorer and remove the plug-ins. The pluse Explorer executable file is usually stored in Program Files\Genuitec\Pulse Explorer and the file name is pulse-explorer.exe
Run this executable, it will ask for login/password, you can try ananymous login if you forgot login/password.
It will redirect to explorer.
Click / expand “My Profiles”. It will list you all your MyEclipse profiles here.
Click on “MyEclipse 7.5”, notice right hand pane will display base, shared and personal software.
All your plugins/features are listed under personal software. Review this list.
To remove a software, right click and click on “remove”.
Next, right click on “MyEclipse 7.5” and click on either [Install and run]/[Re-install and run]. Pulse autotamtically resolves any dependency conflicts.Let me know if you have any queries.

support-joyMemberHi Karsten Silz,
After trying to remove using pulse explorer executable file, please let me know the status of the issue.

Hi Karsten Silz,
After trying to remove using pulse explorer executable file, please let me know the status of the issue. The Pulse profile didn’t list the two “undead plugins”, either; it showed exactly what I see in MyEclipse under “Add/Remove Software”.
So how do I get completely rid of these two plugins?
BTW: Out of habit, I said I’m on XP SP 3. I’m not – I’m using a replacement laptop, and it’s running Vista, SP 2.
support-joyMemberHi ksilz,
When you use pulse-explorer.exe, it will redirect to explorer
Next, right click on “MyEclipse 7.5” and click on either [Install and run]/[Re-install and run].
Because, in some cases if it has any dependency conflicts, Pulse automatically resolves them.If the problem still persists after trying the above pointed out method,
I would suggest you wipe out the all 7.x installs from your machine and then reinstall MyEclipse 7.5 from scratch. That should get you up and running. -
