    Dear All,
    I’m a linux developer, I’m using Eclipse 301 and I’m testing MyEclipse382 on a Centrino 1.6GHZ laptop with 512MB of RAM.
It’s very slow, Myeclipse builds continuosly the project… and I spend a lot of time doing this with my CPU @ 100%…
Also when I start tomcat from Eclipse, I see drammatic slow performance…

Is my hardware enouth for MyEclipe to do J2EE development?
I plan to buy 1GB of RAM, but is this a solution to this problem… if so I will buy also MyEclipse (it’s great but unusable with my hardware for now)…

    Thanx

The MyEclipse-going-crazy-at-100%-cpu-and-eating-ram issue is actually most likely caused by the JSP Indexer, our latest quickfix has finally wrapped up all the outstanding bugs with it here:

You can try applying that. On a whole the performance of MyEclipse should be fine on a 1.6 centrino, the Pentium M chip design is actually a back-to-basics CPU that makes it quite power when compared to comparable (2.8Ghz, 3.0Ghz, etc.) Pentium 4s, so your computer should be fine. Also I have a Pentium 4 2.4ghz with 512 Ram at home and everything runs fine.
